![]() Compare your type 1 versions against you opentype to make sure there are no differences, and use the opentype versions instead. I have Universal Type Server which is similarly another extensis product. I would not use any type 1 fonts if at all possible, as that is 25 year old technology and often causes technical issues and crashes. You have a type 1 font "a" and opentype " O" versions of Myriad Bold open. Nor do I have time to train an entire department on confusing WORKAROUNDS. Could I spend time messing around with trying to activate the correct fonts permanently in Suitcase before opening the art? Could, but unfortunately I'm supposed to be an artist also and I already have a backlog, We don't have time to scan all our art for wrong versions of fonts/text wrapping issues that's why we have Suitcase Fusion. Now I have our entire art department waiting for a solution to this mess. Our company stalled on going with subscription software as long as possible, hoping the bugs would be worked out. ![]() It seems fairly clear that Adobe's Typekit, though "turned off", is interfering with Suitcase's auto-activation. I have screen captures for all of the above. This is despite having the latest/greatest versions of Adobe CC and Suitcase Fusion. Adobe is interfering with Suitcase's auto-activation of two fonts instead, Adobe wants us to sync to Typekit, which is turned.off. Adobe Illustrator refuses to recognize two fonts correctly auto-activated by Suitcase Fusion. The Adobe Illustrator Character drop-down lists the four Myriad/MyriadPro fonts as missing, and the artwork shows an ugly substituted font, with the pink highlighting indicating it was substituted. It still lists only the Helvetica font noted in Step B1.ī6. I go to the menu Illustrator>Type>Suitcase Fusion>Check Document Fonts. This strongly suggests that Adobe prevented that activation and wants us instead to activate their version in Typekit. MyriadPro-Cond: Suitcase has not activated the font. Myriad-Roman has a blue diamond, indicating Suitcase Fusion automatically and correctly activated the font. Myriad-Bold has a blue diamond, indicating Suitcase Fusion automatically and correctly activated the font. MyriadPro-Semibold: Available to sync from Typekit with a checkbox in the Sync column.ī4. MyriadPro-Cond: Available to sync from Typekit, with a checkbox in the Sync column. Myriad-Roman: Default font substituted for missing font. Myriad-Bold: Default font substituted for missing font. Like Example A, after a few seconds, the CC dialog indicates it synced some of the fonts, which disappear from the list. Like Example A, the CC dialog indicates missing fonts, all of which we actually have.ī3. (Two, because we also have a Postscript version.) We have control of this part of the situation.ī2. Not a problem, as Suitcase Fusion shows us the two we can choose from. This is expected, since the TrueType/Apple Computer version of Helvetica is a newer version in El Capitan. A Suitcase Fusion dialog pops up showing that the Helvetica used in the art is different than those available. Note: In Illustrator, under Type>Suitcase Fusion, "All Libraries" is selected and "Enable Font Sense" is activated.ī1. ![]() Note: No non-system fonts are activated in Suitcase fusion before starting. I opened another Illustrator artwork document. We rely on Suitcase Fusion's FontSense technology to auto-activate the correct fonts from OUR library. After 5-10 seconds, the CC dialog says: "Successfully synced fonts from Typekit." A Creative Cloud dialog pops up indicating missing fonts, all of which we actually have.Ī3. As others have noted, this doesn't seem to do much.Ī2. In the CC App, I have Typekit turned OFF. This is what happens to the same art on the upgraded iMac:Ī1. We have our own font library loaded into Suitcase Vault, just like on the iMacs not yet upgraded.Īrtwork opens fine on the iMacs still running Adobe CS6 and Suitcase Fusion 6. We have an Imac we have upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.6, the latest Adobe CC (2017, 21.0.0 just downloaded), and the latest Suitcase Fusion (18.2.0 just downloaded). ![]()
